Kruger Park & Zululand Explorer Safari Reviews

Reviewed by Geoff Hard on over a year ago
What can I say except that the trip was amazing. We were picked up from our accommodation on the first morning by a well presented driver called Emanuel who drove us to the Kruger Park, on the way we stopped off at God's Window the waterfall and at the town of Pilgrims Rest. We then arrived at Hippo Hollow where we were met by friendly staff who soon sorted out a small problem with our room. We went out on a night drive with the rangers in Kruger Park, which we found very interesting. We then returned to Hippo Hollow for dinner and sat watching 5 Hippo's out on the grass whilst we dined. The following morning we were picked up by our guide Roderick again he was very friendly and a wealth of knowledge, we left at 06:00 to drive to the park and by breakfast we had already seen the Big Five. The rest of the day was just as exciting and it was nice to see a man doing his job and getting so excited with every animal we saw. He was amazing!! The second Game Drive carried on in the same vane, just perfect we never got tired of seeing the wildlife. Day four arrived and again we were picked up after breakfast by yet another driver called James he also was immaculately turned out and was a wealth of knowledge during our trip to Natal. We were taken to Ubizane Safari Lodge in Zululand again the accommodation was immaculate and the food perfect. We even had wildlife walking past our bedroom window. Here we did two more game drives with the safari lodge's own guide, we were amazed by the number of Elephants that we managed to see. The trip was amazing and all the people involved with making it prefect for us need a big thank you, what more can I say.

Here is an honest comment about our trip and your organization. It was excellent. Firstly we travelled with a couple that was delightful – the combination could not have been better and there was never a dull moment, neither was there a moment of disagreement. I imagine that this was due more to good fortune than good management on your part – however it was a big plus. The drivers were impeccable – we felt safe and secure with them. Never were they late – never was there any type of misunderstanding. Ronald – who drove us to Kruger – was also a competent guide and we can only strongly recommend him. We were very touched when he said goodbye to us. If by chance you are in contact with him do tell him that we have not yet received a mail from him. The lodge at the Kruger was magnificent – a special mention goes to the meals that were very good. No problems with the organization at the Kruger. The only negative on your part was that you did not manage to organize a leopard lounging in a tree for us to get to see. Our driver James who followed us for the rest of the trip was a good man and a perfect gentleman (as our Australian fellow traveller called him). We were disappointed that we did not drive through Swaziland – we thought that was in the program and did not realize that he would drive around the country. The Ubizane lodge was excellent – very interesting and the people went not only out of their way as far as hospitality is concerned but I would say even one step further. Please tell them how much we appreciated their hospitality. The tour of the St Lucia Wetlands, and all of the remaining trip went with clockwork precision – James never missed a beat!! I have enclosed several photos. A special thanks to all concerned.
